Dr. C.Y. Liu is a world renowned surgeon in the subspecialty field of gynecological minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic and robotic). As a pioneer in the field, he performed his first laparoscopic hysterectomy in 1990. Since then, he has performed hundreds of thousands of laparoscopic gynecological procedures and has developed a number of surgical innovations. (see Dr.Liu’s CV)

In 1997, Dr. Liu established the first fellowship training program in Advanced Gynecological Endoscopic Surgery which has since grown into over 40 such programs in major medical centers throughout the country. More than 3000 gynecologists around the world have been trained by him.

In 2001, Dr. Liu was awarded “The World’s Most Excellent Surgeon in Gynecological Endoscopy” by the European Gynecologic Endoscopic Society. He is in great demand for lecturing and performing live surgeries at major national and international medical conferences. This ensures the dissemination of his gynecological surgical techniques to other surgeons worldwide.

Elected to the presidency of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) for 2009-2010, Dr. Liu currently serves as professor of OB/GYN at the University of Tennessee. His practice is limited to laparoscopic and robotic surgery, with special expertise in the areas of laparoscopic urogynecology, female pelvic organ prolapse and urinary stress  incontinence, laparoscopic and robotic surgery for severe endometriosis, and difficult laparoscopic hysterectomy and myomectomy.
